The DDA has stated "type" since its inception, it was not a later addition.

It is illegal to own a Pitbull type, or any of the other three proscribed breeds, unless it is entered on the index of exempt dogs, and it fits with the required conditions.
It is only the court that can order the index to be opened to admit a dog of "type" that has been assess to not be a danger to the public.

Yes, pretty as she is, she does look very close to type, her proportionate muzzle length, coat type, colour and general proportions would also fit Pit type much more closely than a staff x DDB, or staff x Visla.

However she is unlikely to come to anyone's attention so long as you keep her under good control but I would stick to call her a staff x, and not ask people what she is as that gives an opening to discuss and speculate her type.

As I think has been said, staff x can be type under the ACt, and many genuine pits were/are described this way as a get out, which does no favours to genuine crosses, but there you go.

Enjoy her, keep her well socialised, well controlled and out of trouble.

Don't ask people to speculate about her breeding, and hopefully no one will be bothered about her. :)

I don't think she is crossed with anything, I think she is pure "Pit", and would hazard a guess that she comes from a bloodline known as "tankline". Lots of them in my area as one of the main breeders used to live nearby and they are very popular dogs around here, so I've met and chatted to a few people with dogs of this bloodline and they all look the spitting image of your girl, exact same ear shape, head shape, eye and coat colour. The ones I have met have all been great dogs though, very level and loving temperaments, no problems being around other dogs, even small dogs and their owners always say they have great temperaments. So as others have said, call her a Staff X, train her well, socialize her properly and she'll be a great dog. She's stunning!
