Recently the basenji puppy has started to make yodel sounds when I'm at home. Neighbours started to complain about this noise. Can I train my basenji puppy to not yodel or at least to control the yodelling. This will also help when he's an adult. I know that other dog breeds are trained to control or stop their barking. is there a similar behaviour training for the basenji not to yodel. I would really like to keep peace with my neighbours.
I read that basenji yodels take place when the dog is either happy or when he is bored at home alone. It was also said that there are many Basenjis that do not yodel at all. Maybe this is something that is inherited. If a basenji starts yodelling, do they continue for a long time or just for a few seconds and they stop?
