Hi I am looking for a miniature Poodle here In Dorset but it seems there are more Poodle Crosses, cavapoo, cockapoo,labradoodle, etc. Are these Poodle crosses becoming a breed now? What do people think about crossing Poodles with whatever?
I ended up getting a cross and only because that's what they advertised them as. I ended up with a border terrier x poodle. She is adorable and already getting the hang of being house trained.
Many years ago, when Poodles were at the height of their popularity and they seemed to be everywhere, there were a lot of accidental crosses (Poodles tend to be very amorous!) Without exception, every one I met was a delight. But now of course they tend to be a deliberate cross to create a 'designer' dog and to be sold for ridiculous sums. But it sounds as if Peggy is the good old fashioned accidental cross!
