Here is some Dachsund info from fellow Dogwebber Snoopy:

Dachshunds come in three coat types and two different sizes in this country.
The coat types are smooth, long haired and wire haired. The sizes are standard and miniature.
Dachshund in German, means Badger dog. They were bred to hunt through dense forest, and being small and short legged, did not travel fast enough to lose contact with the hunters. They often hunted foxes and badgers and other vermin. The hunters needed a dog that was small and brave but not aggressive.
Dachshunds should be faithful, good tempered, intelligent, lively and courageous. Many text books say they should be obedient I've yet to meet one of those.
Some of the common colours in this country are black and tan, chocolate and tan, red, cream and dapple.
They are a great breed to own, and a pleasure to live with (most of the time ).
Don't be fooled into thinking they're a lap dog because they are little though, they love to be out and about.

Yep, Smudgely thats our Norm, lol, the three mini's are mine and Lou belongs to my mum.

Thought so - it was the pink collar that gave it away.

Looking for a new Puppy - I need help

My name is Lou and I live in Coventry, West Midlands. I am looking to get a miniature Wirehaired in a couple of months.
I have had Wirehaired Dachsies around me for the last 20-25 years.

My little baby died last year, and it's time to move on.

Do you know where I would be able to find out what kennels/breeders have puppies available in early spring. Who would be best to contact?

I moved here from Denmark nearly 2 years ago, and It's not so easy finding a network who can help me find a new pup

Your best bet is to contact the breed club...they will be able to put you in contact with REPUTABLE breeders.Will see if I can find details for you
