I was finding it more & more difficult to find a decent dog lead with a good strong trigger clip, as the name disc were getting caught on trigger clip pulling it open & I was left holding just the lead while my dogs were walking free down the street, so now I use horse lead ropes with an wednesbury clip which means I can now breath easier every time I go out, knowing my dogs will not be walking free down the street anymore. pictures of my new wednesbury clip horse lead rope on K9 close up of wednesbury clip lead
These lead ropes comes in 1 meter - 1 1/2 meters - 2 meters & 3 meters lengths, they also come in different thickness too (shire horse down to Shetland pony thickness) I use the shire horse thickness leads in the rescue home when walking the powerful mastiffs & newfoundland type dogs, I use the Shetland pony thickness ones on the puppies & the little Pomeranian X Chihuahua that's in the rescue home.
I just answered your post in the yellow ribbon thread .. where do you buy these from they look really good
The wednesbury clip lead ropes I got from Viovets they on Facebook & on line The awareness harnesses collars & leads are being sold on Amazon & Ebay
I recently bought a Bergen EZ Steps Coupler lead for my two as I want to walk them together but because I sometimes need to use a stick I only want to hold the lead in one hand. So far I haven't tried it with both dogs because at 8 months old, Georgina's still a "work in progress" and still finds it difficult to walk in a straight line. Its brilliant though when I walk her alone and she starts to pull like a chuffer train because the lead acts like a shock absorber and takes the strain off my arm. The other thing I like about it is that I can detach the hand loop and clip it onto her harness if for any reason I need to keep her very close to me. It wasn't cheap at £27. I bought mine online from www.fleecedogharnesses.co.uk
l tried a couple of the horses lead ropes but found them to 'springy for me, l decided to make my own from 'boat rope' and they have lasted years .
They look great - love the colours too. I like the Halti training leads - they are really soft but strong.
