My name is Evan and I adopted a puppy from the Humane Society 2-3 weeks ago. His paperwork said he was Lab x Shepherd but it didn't indicate which type of shepherd. His front legs had a bit of a 'cookies and cream' look to them so I assumed he was an Aussie.

After doing some research online comparing him and his littermates to other shepherd breeds, I'm convinced he's a Dutchie. I'm here on the forums to learn more about the breed in the event that he is more Dutchie than Lab.

He's already shown his intelligence. He can learn a new command in as little as 1 day and, at most, 2.5-3 days. I've never been able to train a Lab this quickly.

He is lovely. I hope you have some great times ahead. I think he might struggle with the periodic table though!

What a cutie! Don't ever tell my ex-boss (he's Dutch) I said this - I'll deny it to my dying breath - but I suspect his fast learning ability is from his Dutchy side. ;)
