    I wondered about that too Chris. Large breeds = large litters, and it can be very expensive to run stock on up to screening age. Although mixed breeds are currently having a revival, most families just don't have ideal living conditions for giant breeds. Unfortunately there are not many J. Arthur Ranks around these days, and we no longer have an appetite for culling - thank goodness!

    The people who it’s hard to imagine anyone knowing more about great big dog cross breeding in Australia , is the wild pig hunting community.

    for one thing Great Dane cross bull mastiff is a popular hunting cross.
    almost everything has been tried.
    Rottweiler crosses have been used , although not too common.

    they do it for working dogs though , not really for looks .

    That’s good health wise , not for conformity though.
