Hi, i was planning to get a male golden retriever puppy from a local registered breeder. The litter was born on March 22. This is going to be my first puppy, so i wanted to confirm the quality of the breed by posting some pictures. Really appreciate all the help in advance!
It is impossible to verify the health of a puppy by a few photos. The Golden Retriever Club of America offers a lot of information on how to find a healthy puppy here: https://grca.org/find-a-golden/begin-the-search/health-issues-introduction-section-a/ If you're not in the US, you can look up the breed club in your country for information.
I’d suggest looking for reviews of the breeder. I think in general people are more likely to post about being unhappy versus being happy. Where is the breeder registered? Do you know if the parents have had the breed appropriate health screenings? Are they breeding multiple dogs, if so, how many? Have they asked you questions about the environment you’re potentially bringing the puppy into?
