Last night I stumbled upon my local gundog club website and they have a training class starting next month not far from me. It says all abilities welcome and I am tempted to go as it's not very expensive, but would I be able to attend with Harry? He's very clearly a working type Springer Spaniel, but he's a rescue with no papers or anything. They all look quite serious on the website and I'm a bit apprehensive
I think you will find that most trainers are human! Why not go along without a dog to watch, ask questions and see if it, and the trainer, suit you?
I would say go for it! Give them a ring for a chat, and see what they say and go from there. Dog training is a serious business, don't you know Really, don't worry about it, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Helen
I met and chatted to loads of gundog type people on Sunday at a gundog show - they were all lovely and very helpful when we asked any questions They're more impressed with your dogs behaviour than it's papers
