My Great Dane's vagina is really swollen (more then usual) but she's not due to go into heat for *estimated* 8 more months. Dane's usually go into heat every 12-18 months. The vet says she's fine. Any suggestions on how to assure myself she's fine or does anyone know if it's possible for a 3 year old Dane to go into heat more often then what I'm being told?
If the vet says she is fine then I would accept it. When was her previous season and how old was she when she had her first? I have had bitches that came into season both well before and well after their supposedly correct time.
Bitches can't read the book, and are individuals. Although yearly seasons are normal for a Dane, it is possible for them to have shorter cycles. As @Malka says, how long were the the gaps between her previous seasons?
