I do hope you feel better pdq Carole - the last thing you needed was an UTI at the moment.

Why on earth did Chas have to queue at Tesco - I thought they were supposed to be letting "the elderly" [much as we hate to be thought of as such] go in early, or something? I do hope he does not get whatever you have.

Oh dear, what with you being ill, Chas being under the weather, and the Beags missing their walks, all I can do is send lots of get-well-soon {{{vibes}}} xx

Oh Carol, I do hope you get better soon xx

A little tip, before we were told to fully lock down and while the supermarket shelves were practically empty, we found the small, local Spars had the majority of what we needed and weren't crowded

Some ignorance is spreading where I live. People are saying that because they are black... Their risk of catching it goes way down. This is because someone pointed out that Africa has way less coronavirus disease than the rest of the world yet is generally known for MORE diseases, and also that every patient that they interviewed or family member you've seen of a confirmed case has been an Asian or white person, therefore black people clearly have extra resistance.

There is of course no science to support these theories and I suspect that anybody can catch it just as easily. I suspect Africa probably has lower rates due to less people traveling from infected areas to Africa. Either way... I know it isn't wise to assume that you have resistance or immunity due to race. Viruses don't tend to work that way and that mentality won't help slow the spread or anything.

Sad to hear the pair of you are feeling so poorly. Plenty of rest, hydration, vitamins and more rest... Hope the pair of you are getting a wee bit of support with the dogs etc etc. Like you mentioned it doesn't sound like you have the dreaded virus but you must get stronger before you venture out... I know there are many problems at the moment with online food shopping but that is the way to go, the same as Malka....
    Get well soon.....

Online food shopping? [mutter mutter mutter] I just tried to add a couple of things and remove some others from the order that is due on 10 April, which was the first delivery slot when I placed the order last week... and half way through the site went down. [mutter mutter mutter]. Hopefully it will come back without having deleted the whole order and the delivery slot. The order is for things that the macolet does not stock, just a few things to make life a little bit easier for me.

However, as he asked, I sent Hai an email of things I did need from the macolet but kept getting mixed up with the names for things. Hai speaks perfect English and he knows the products that I usually buy, but I got stumped on one thing and ended up typing "The things that you hang in the sherutim that turns the water blue [there are 3 in a packet together]".

I sent the email after Shabbat ended yesterday evening and he telephoned me this morning to say that he would get the order ready and send it over with someone - which he did, half an hour later!

And now back to see if Shufersal's site is still down, and if up that it has not deleted my order!

@CaroleC, I was just reading an article that says Lupus patients in the US are having a harder time finding their medication because it’s been said it may help with Coronavirus. I believe you said earlier in this thread that you take this medication for lupus. You may want to contact your doctor and see if you can stock up a bit just in case the same thing happens in the UK.

Join the queue Gareth, join the queue! I had better warn you though that although the macolet across the road has a very good selection of booze, they do not stock Jack! :044:

@who owns who Malka does not live in the UK. I think they also tried medication that treats malaria but it was deemed ineffective. They say plasma from recovered coronavirus patients can help severely ill people fight it... But it isn't a true cure and plasma from patients is hard to move and acquire.

Ha, I should put up an adoption poster for me and little man, to see if anyone will have us? And I don't mind not having JD, if times are hard I'll stockpile Wine Gums. :p

Yes, I am taking hydroxychloroquin, and have just had my retina scans, so there is no problem with me staying on them - just been given two months supply.
We have both been so ill this last week, I'm not sure with what, but don't think it can be CV19. I have lost half a stone, but did manage to eat some bread this lunchtime, and a cauliflower grill for my tea - I hope this means that I've started to turn the corner.
As Chas was not feeling too good, I took the dogs out alone this morning and had a real job getting back home again - zero energy, needed lots of rests sitting on walls. The Beags took every opportunity to drag me around - they can be so naughty when you are below par.

I do not know how on earth you managed with both the Beags Carole - I cannot even cope with Tikki so on the few occasions we went to the Pension originally David, my driver and the last time it was The Ninja, both had to take her on her leash up to the car while I plonked behind on my sticks. Mind you, I cannot even pick her up - all 6.7kg of her!

Please do not lose too much weight Carole - I am down over 16kg now and am dreading the warmer weather when I will not be able to hide under bulky winter clothes.

Incidentally, talking of The Ninja, he said he would pop in to see me tomorrow if he has time, wearing his new IDF Home Front Command uniform! That will give some nosy people to talk about - they are used to seeing him on his first responder bike, but not in IDF uniform!

@Chris How is your son coping with the lockdown? Are you allowed to check on his welfare?

I'm having to break the rules a bit, Carole. We pick him up for breakfast and take him back home with what he needs for the rest of the day. As I see it, it's still more or less isolation because it's door to door. Other than that, we are totally in isolation. Rosie has adapted well to garden exercise. We both go out with her a couple of times a day and make sure she gets plenty of running in.

Not much else we can do. He wouldn't eat if we didn't stretch the rules just that little bit

You do not really have a choice Chris, do you. Does your son stay in his place all the time or does he go out for a short walk each day? It must be even more difficult for him at the moment what with not being able to socialise at all.
