    An affix is a name that the breeder uses so that any puops bred (or owned) by that person will have that affix/name

    for example Smithstaff blue boy etc
    Smithstaff being the affix.
    Not every breeder/owner has one though

    What do you mean by sensibly?

    Ideally you should only be thinking of breeding from a dog if he is an ideal specimin and will improve the genepool. Ask yourself why you want to breed him, is he worthy of breeding and if so what has he done to make you think this? Ensure he is free from any physical and tempramental faults that he is structurally sound and a good example of the breed, that any necessary health checks have been done, that his parents and grandparents are free from any undesirable traits/physical problems, to assess him properly you would want to wait until he is fully matured as some faults may only come out later in life....Once or if you do decide to breed him you then have to go through the same rigmarole with the bitch. Lots to think about there am sure others may agree/disagree these are just my thoughts.
