That Picture of Jimmie at 6.5 weeks reminded me so mutch of this one of my dachshund and a litter mate at around the same age.

    What do you think?

    Hi Kimokimmi and Janie,

My duaghter (12) has seen the puppy pics and fallen in love with your dogs. I enjoyed seeing how the dogs now look 2-3 years later. I also appreciate knowing they need a clipping once a month. But can you tell me more about their temperments? We have always had larger dogs (Beagle/germanshepard (as ugly as it sounds, but well loved) and a spanial/golden). I may be mistaken but my impression of smaller dogs is that they have always seemed a little bossy. OK laugh at me. I get how loveable they are. They somehow seem more stuborn and less obedience trainable. Tell me I'm wrong.

Also does this cross have "hair" or fur? Three days into our second dog I found out I was allergic to him. :-( Just to show you how much I love dogs I got 8 years of allergy shots and took asthma medication for 15 years to keep him.

Mia is how you described a little dog.. LOL. She is bossy.. but only with other dogs, not with people. I will be totally honest, that we haven`t really done that much training with her.. she stops if i tell her to wait, to put her leash on after a walk... recalls ok.. unless she is sniffing after birds, then i`ve got to go and get her. she sits.. but only for a treat. I think they are as trainable as any other dog.. if you`re prepared to put in the time. Mia has fur.. not hair, she`s all fluffy, more like a lhasa, where as a dachshund has hair... so the cross could really have been any combination of either or both breeds.

Janie, Thanks for the extra info. I'll have to think about the fur vs. hair thing. But enjoy your fluff ball.

    Thanks

Hi, I have a lhasa apso smooth haired mini dachshund cross :) I was looking on the internet to see if there were any others out there like him and came accross this page. :) I think it's really strange that mine looks nothing like this! Mine looks more like a dachshund but with less elongated features and a little taller. Long torso too. I shall have to get some pics of him on here.

I just rescued "Baby Wauktizzy" almost 2 months ago...he was severly abused and neglected. Hes 18mos old. But he is my precious Baby...hence his name!! I was wondering if any people could give me insight to the fact that his back hips seem to make popping noises but he does not cry or act like they hurt him in the slightest

How do I post his picture, I am having issues :)

I can`t offer any info on his medical condition but can on posting pics. You need to upload you pics from your pc to a photo hosting site like photobucket. Then copy the IMG code that appears near the pic.. then paste that info into you post window on here.. if you preview post it should show you the pic.
