Hey! I’ve got a black & tanned 6 month old frenchie. Getting his food right has been hard since I’ve gathered he’s allergic to chicken and had a grain allergy. At the moment I’ve got him on Turkey, veg and sweet potato dry food. First off I was giving him chicken which was causing extreme runny poop. The rice was causing skin problems. Now since changing him to grain free, he’s started looking a lot of hair. He’s been shedding all over. Does anyone have any solutions on what to do? I have a feeling this is all allergy related.
The hair that he is shedding now will have been grown while he was on the previous diet. Unless there are bare patches, I would groom regularly, and wait and see what the new coat looks like when it comes through. You could try giving a coat supplement. I have tried several of the expensive ones but find that giving a teaspoon of organic coconut oil seems to work as well as anything else.
