    New Here

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post an introduction but here I am anyway.

I've got a 6 month old alapaha blue blood bulldog bitch called Cassie. We've had her since 8 weeks old and gone through hell house training her, but in the last few weeks she's turned into the best pup in the world.

Only problems I've had recently are other f**king idiot dog owners who say their dog is friendly
but then their border collie trys to take my puppys face off because she was 5 yards away from their ball. She's still ok and wants to meet dogs but I'll have to be carefull 'cos they don't forget.

OK, sorry about the rant, here's a picture

    Hi and welcome.

    Gorgeous puppy.

"My dog is friendly" and "he's never done that before" are two of the most hated statements going in the dog World :)

    Hello Steve, welcome to Breedia.
I don't know much about bull breeds, but Cassie looks a sweet girl.

    Welcome to the forum.
    Great looking girl you have.

Never worry about idiots, just inform them to control there dog and walk on.
It's best to make the statement and walk on since you do not want your pup to feel off your emotions.
If you stop to argue or get into a worked up state because of other people or there dogs it can leave a bad impression with your pup to it being leash reactive or overly aggressive to aggressive dogs.
If you pay no mind to them, your dog will follow your example most of the time.

I walk a 200lb+ dog twice a day and have seen him attacked by aggressive dogs, all 3 times my fault because I was being Lazy and not watching our surroundings. 99% of the time if you watch you an see what might be a issue and steer clear of them.

Understood, the thing is if I avoided every possible negative encounter she would never meet another dog and she'd get no dog socialisation. Today was a good day though, off the lead playing with a shar pei and springer spaniel. I think the best I can do is try to read the other dogs body language and energy before taking a calculated risk.

Saying all that, I have to agree with everything you said, It's just such a critical time in her development it can be hard to find the right balance.
