    Just found this interesting article.

    I'd read (when researching a raw diet) that domesticated dogs have 0.5% difference in their mitrochondrial DNA to wolves. But this article seems to suggest that domesticated dogs came from a type of dog that became exticnt about 100,000 years ago.

    So, you can breed a dog to 'look' like a wolf, but originally they didn't come from wolves (according to this man anyway).
