Old tyme Bulldog - what's the difference?

    Hey guys,

We've got a new addition to our family, and Old Tyme.

Does anyone have one? Would love to hear your thoughts about them!

Forgot to ask...What's the difference between a Victorian Bulldog? I keep seeing them about?!

Not sure if I'm correct, but an Old Tyme is more like the original Bull dog?

A little confused, in your Profile you describe her as an ''Olde English Bulldog'' which I've always been lead to believe is a cross American Bulldog in the UK, in the USA they are entirely different.

I kept Olde Tymes for a while before deciding to go back to Dobermanns, lost my last one last year, who was an Olde Tyme Bulldog from Mollett lineage.

Where was your pup from as this would help a great deal I could probably explain more in regards to her background etc.

Here's more info regarding the differences.

Just a different strain, from different lines, different breedings behind them - best way I can describe it.

I don't know anything about those breeders (sorry never heard of them) but they do admit they crossbreed as stated on their site. So maybe it would be best asking them directly what exactly is behind your dog :)

Isn't that an Engish Bull dog?

Old Tymes I think are the original English Bull dog!

From what Im told, the English Bull dog (Not old Tyme) has been messed around with to create all the wrinkles etc which leads to all the health problems...:?:

My partner, it's what he was told.

Anyway, what do we know! :?:

I don't really want to get into a big debate about the breed. I just wanted to know what a Victorian Bull dog was...

    Thanks guys! :)

TBH, there is nothing to debate, it's been done time and time again before - but there is a BIG misconception here they are NO healthier than a well bred Bulldog I am afraid to say.

    Ahh ok.

When we spoke to the Vet, and said she'd been bred well and doubt we'd have many problems with her health.

    Lets hope so then! :)

Bit of a silly question when I owned this dog..

What I am not a fan of is the amount of crossing that seems to be going on (why has Corso blood been introduced?..why?) I bet you could have gotton a well bred Corso for the amount of money you paid for your puppy.:)

Most bull dogs go for about £2000?

We got ours for half that. The breeders didn't want us to breed her bcos she's been bred for health rather then looks. Which suited us great :001:

I have no idea what Corso is...:?: lol

Not really a silly question. I owned a beagle, but I'm not a big fan of them! Beagles are not for me and I only found that out through having one!!!!!
