I have received 2 cheques today, one was from the income tax people & other from council tax people, both cheques were sent by 1st class post, both cheques were for wait for it.............. 1p yes folks just one single penny, it cost them more to send cheques then what the cheques were worth, have framed both cheques & have hanged them in bathroom.
It cost 62p to send first class letter maybe 55p for an frank letter then you add the cost of envelopes so in all I am guessing 66p/59p to send me an cheque for just 1p xx
Don't know about there, but in the US business checks are good for one year, so you could hold on to it and include it as part of next years taxes. Since it will be a two party check when you send it back it messes up their book keeping for a while because they take a longer time to clear the bank.
Not sure think its 3 months in England. But I like them framed & hanging in bathroom, it shows me just how crazy the income tax office & the local Labour run council are, in sending an cheque for just 1p x
