Alaskan Malamutes have been crossed with German Shepherd Dogs for decades. The offspring is known as Alaskan Shepherds. They look like wolfdogs. I can honestly tell you that I've mistaken an Alaskan Shepherd for a wolf dog before. If one of the parents is a wooley Malamute, then you've got what looks like a wolf bear! lol Alaskan Shepherds are simply a cross between the Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd Dog. However, I've seen multi-generational crosses. They are house trained very quickly. They do have a high prey drive, but just let them around a cranky cat and all will be resolved. lol Watching these dogs growing from puppies to adults is like watching a bear cub mature into a bear! They need to be walked several times per day.
