My dog is terrified of thunder! I use a thunder sheet, CBD oil and a song from you tube that is supposed to calm dogs. All of this. works a little ut not a lot. I am looking for help that does not involve a sedative. Does anyone have any ideas? I saw earlier that someone asked about hunting types of English Settrs. I have one the is half size. and I believe t is a Lewellyn type and is bred for hunting not for shoe. He is very. good at hunting his tail and almost catching it.
Are you in the UK? The Dogs Trust site has a free download of scary sounds that you can use. Download the lot, or compile your own selection. Begin by playing at a VERY low volume and only increase gradually as your dog becomes used to each level.
How does your dog react? If he's the type that likes physical contact when he's afraid, try a bit of massage. It often helps to calm them down.
