Normally I just get them tested upon moving in to see if they have felv or fid. If clear, then they get one after 2 years old as a baseline. Then not until they reach 10 years old unless there is a concern. With this group, Looney2's heart and Punx' eating disorder hit around the same time so it's felt like bloodtest after bloodtest. Looney1 had a heart murmur last year, but I didn't do a bloodtest because of Looney2's echo. So I want to get him one if he has a murmur still to rule out anything serious. Panther hasn't had an adult baseline so I want to get her that one. With Punx I just wanted one more clean test to put my worry to rest about there being something wrong. Catdog should get one this year as she is going on 12 and has arthritis. I've been giving her half a vetprofin every 3 days (left over from Moosedog) and it seems to be helping, so I'd like to get her on it officially. Tornado-dog is good for a few years still.
