    Cut my Precious's ear

OMG, I was trimming my Precious ears because I was trying to tapering them so her ears would stand up and I nicked her ear and a very very small piece was cut off.

    Will this harm her?

Presumably this is a joke? ( the not funny sort?)

When you say a 'very very small piece' was cut off, how much do you mean? Did you actually cut a bit of her ear off or did you just nick her skin?

Yes, I would imagine this would harm her if you cut a bit off her ear... :-(

    Is she ok?

Nick the skin. She is fine. Doesn't act like it bothers her at all even when it happened.

Oh that's good to hear that shes ok, I wouldn't worry about it if she isn't bothered by it. I have spaniels whose ears (hair) I have to trim so I know how easily this can happen, although I have been lucky enough to avoid it (touch wood) :)

Why do you want her ears to stand up?

I like the look of them with their ears up.

However if the tapering doesn't work, that is ok because she is a cutie regardless.

I asked the question because me personal have had my pierce ear to rip from wearing to heavy earrings. It did not hurt and it didn't bother me at all, so I was just checking to make sure that the area of the dog's ear is the same.

It's probably a bit sore, animals hide their pain as it's a sign of weakness - it's a survival mechanism to act healthy. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it heals OK without getting infected.
Next time you trim her fur, use a thin comb placed between the scissors and her skin. The fur will poke through the teeth of the comb so you can cut it, but the skin will be safe.
