    Sent along the old man today. We will miss him. He's always been a good boy. Here's his last photo. RIP Buddy. Screenshot_20240430_145645_Messages.jpg

    It’s always hard to say goodbye to our furry friends. They hold such a special place in our hearts. May your heart feel full when you think of all the time you shared with Nigredo.

    Losing our loved ones is always a dreadful time, and a dog's lifetime is never long enough. Sending sympathy to you MJ.
    Run free Nigredo.

    Thank you guys very much. He lived a good life and was over 12 years old. Weird not seeing him here but no more horrible arthritis, kidney and liver failure, bladder cancer, etc. He's free from all that now.

    Malone is totally unfazed... he's always been an attention hog anyway.

    Oh Myra, I'm so sorry.

    I feel as though I know Nigredo and Malone as I've followed your posts about them all their lives.

    Run free big guy. Shine down brightly

    Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep
    Do not stand at my grave and weep;
    I am not there. I do not sleep.
    I am a thousand winds that blow.
    I am the diamond glints on snow.
    I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
    I am the gentle autumn rain.
    When you awaken in the morning's hush
    I am the swift uplifting rush
    Of quiet birds in circled flight.
    I am the soft stars that shine at night.
    Do not stand at my grave and cry;
    I am not there.
    I did not die.
    Often attributed to Mary Elizabeth Frye, recent research suggests she plagiarized it from Clare Harner.

    Another unfortunate update - Malone attacked my mother out of no where a while ago... ripping her foot open to where she needed stitches and antibiotics etc. He has never been aggressive and we do not know why he did this. He was immediately surrendered to animal control to be euthanized... so I currently do not own any dogs and do not see any in my future at least for a LONG LONG time.

    I'm sorry your mother was injured.

    Probably good not to get any more dogs so you can focus your attention on solving world hunger, etc.

    Lol! I LOVE it. I stand by what I said fully. My mom is healing well and the offending party is gone. You can kick rocks with no socks madam. Like expeditiously. If I do get another dog - it is unlikely I will post here anyway regarding the dog... you know... because of people like you!

    Please don't get another dog. I understand your being distressed about your mother, and not wanting to take any chances, but to say "the offending party is gone" with absolutely no concern or sadness that a dog you had for years was just killed is just ridiculous. Dogs don't bite for no reason. You failed that dog and don't give a crap.

    Why have a dog when you obviously have no compassion or desire to understand? At the least, determining why HE bit could prevent such an occurrence with another dog in the future.

    Girl please get on somewhere. Dogs are not human and can behave erratically at any time for absolutely no reason. Unlike you - I know better than to think there is always a legit REASON for a certain behavior.

    My dogs are generally well tempered and I have had absolutely no incidents like this before. Malone was high energy but never aggressive.

    And as you WELL KNOW - I absolutely do not care about a dog when stood next to my mother. So there was only one option - regardless of the REASON.

    At the end of the day, you need to get off my thread madam because there is no point in a back and forth and you will *NEVER* convince me to do anything I don't want to do.

    I'm not like you, don't want to be, and never will be. If you want to feel a type of way - take solace in the fact that I currently do not own any dogs, since it's only the dogs that seem to matter to you. Good day!

    You post on a dog forum and you are going to get feedback for being anti-dog. If you don't want responses then don't post.

    Dogs do NOT attack for no reason. There is ALWAYS a reason. Most of the time it is a reason that could have been avoided if the humans involved had just paid better attention to their dogs. If you refuse to learn why a dog growled, snapped, bit, then you are only creating a bigger problem. And getting a dog killed.

    That you refuse to understand that just shows that you should never get another dog because if you do you put your loved ones at risk of being bit again and again. For your mother's safety, get a goldfish.
