I wouldn't waste my time creating a designer mutt for my own vanity. I wouldn't want to be responsible for bringing puppies into the world and the pandora's box line breeding to create a 'type' entails.

I think I'll concentrate on breeding bearcoat shar-pei and charging about 3 times the price of a show quality puppy for one like they do with the flowered ones. Bearcoats are hypoallergenic and don't have skin problems, you know. Give me a minute and I'll think up more bullplop that will sell puppies. :005:

They're supposed to be very, very smelly, so maybe that needs to be bred out too.

What would you use? Something like a catahoulah leopard dog for the colour and smooth coat, a pharaoh or ibizan hound for the body shape and a papillon for the humungous ears and so you can work on breeding standard, mini and toy ones. ;-) Put me down for a breeding pair will you?

They are, I got quite close up & personal to the group of males in Amsterdamm Zoo-even with a cold I could smell them Phew !!

Still they are very beautiful & obvious do not need to be manufactured as they already exist ;-)

But not as a pet... they are rubbish in captivity, and dont breed at all well... they need to be in a pack and the males are rubbish without a strong female support group (just like humans really)...

I'm sure we could make them using only dogsey dogs...

    Now we''ll need

    Some really big ears

    A lovely brindley coat

Someone with white spots and patches to break that coat up

    long legs

    bright yellow eyes

Come on dogsey people lend us your dogs:)

Diesel has big ears, long legs, and is brindle, but he's also neutered, so no use to you ;)

Bit of a treck, but there is a half decent, side on pic of Diesel on the forum you may be able to use, can't provide a link (phone), but if you search presentation in the dog showing section, its on page 29, told you it was a bit of a treck lol.

    African wild dog huh.

You've got yourself there some seriously ill pointer. Might want to take that thing to a vet.. self to the doc.

Unless you and I look at different African dogs, this dog looks a little more realistic for the markings.
